Which project was your most successful? Describe the theme and or topic and the process you went through to complete the project. Were the choices you made regarding material, size, technique, etc beneficial to enhancing this project. Please explain.
My most successful project was the painting one where we chose an artist and used their techniques to recreate our own piece. I chose the artist Peter Max a pyschedelic artist from the 70s. Peter truly inspired me and I loved learning about him. I chose to paint a rainbow inbetween two bulidings i took this summer in Charleson. I knew i could incorprate Peter's techniqes very well in the painting. I loved using bright vibrante colors, and outlining everything to make it look cartoon like. I was not the biggest fan of my rainbow but i did love the side walk in my painting. This was by far my most successful project and favorite to create. |
Look at your body of work over the semester and choose 2 pieces that show your growth as an artist. Discuss each piece and how you grew in the following areas: application of materials, techniques and skills, artistic vision, use of the principles and elements, creativity, intuition and subject matter.
The two pictures above I think show helped me grow as an artist. The first one is my pen and ink drawing and I chose snow white laying in the forest. I used many techniqes to create this work. I stippled, crossed hatched, and free space too. I loved doing this piece. The second picture is just from a sketch we did at the very begining of the year. We just drew a tree. It was not my best and the snow white picture above shows how much I improved over the course of this class. Choose 2 mini lessons that you felt were the most beneficial in your learning for that particular project. Include photos of these and explain thoroughly. Do you feel you needed more instruction for success? Explain or did you feel that the instruction given was enough to ensure success? Explain. (if you do not have a photo for this just answer the question without one)
These to photos show two differnt lessons we were taught this year. One being the prisma colors (the pear), and the other picture being how to show vaule. Both of these lessons helped me a lot. I never was taught any of this in art 1. Ms. Rossi showed us how to do everything, instead of just telling us to do it without and strucute. I loved the pear because I had never worked with prisma colors before and it was nice to give them a try before diving into it. The prisma colors can be hard to work and blend with starters so it was really helpful. The sphers helped me a lot too with knowing the complemntary colors and how to properly add in vaule, and make it look real. I loved drawing these because I think it looks really cool. These two mini leassons helped me a lot during this class, and will help me a lot for future art classes. I may not be the best aartist around but i still like to make art. |
